Process Flow of Copper Casting

Every piece of cast copper art in Xiguan Copper Art is made by 11 complicated and rigorous processes, in which there are not only traces of traditional handicraft, but also brilliant modern technology of precision casting.
We are here to introduce to you the most commonly used casting techniques in the foundry industry, "wax loss casting method" is also known as "dewaxing copper casting". The usual wax-free casting process is simply summarized as the following process, only heating and casting art friends reference.
One of the process flows:
Clay sculpture (the predecessor of each product needs a clay-forming sculpture prototype. Sculpture is recreation after the sculptor repeatedly speculates and deliberates on the basis of original design draft. The shape of clay sculpture, the expression of charm and intention directly affect the quality of future products. Therefore, our sculptors are outstanding masters in the industry.)
Process flow II:
Silicone gel (Silicon gel, English name Silicon Likang Silicon), this chemical material is usually used to make molds, high precision, even hair thickness can be reflected)
Process Flow III:
Making resin prototype (polyethylene, also known as Polly Polyethylene). The resin embryo of the sculpture prototype can be poured out after the silica gel mould is made.
Process flow No. 4:
Repair of resin embryo body (finishing and adjusting the surface of embryo body and texture effect)
Process Flow Fifth:
Reproduction of Silicone Mould (Reproduction of Repaired Resin Embryo into Silicone Mould)
Process flow 6:
Making a paraffin prototype (the silicone mold made again is already complete and intact. The heated melted paraffin is injected into the silicone mold under pressure to produce a wax embryo, which is a copy of the real shape of the product).
Process Seventh:
Paraffin prototype dressing (paraffin prototype poured and peeled from silica gel mold, surface residual mold and a little damage, so paraffin prototype needs to be reconstructed with resin prototype embryo of process three, which is an important part, so the link will directly affect the final product shape and surface effect)
Process Flow VIII:
Sand mold (pottery shell) making (several wax embryos into a series of trees, repeatedly immersed in mud (or stone slurry), the outer layer is embedded and dehumidified and dried, the ceramic shell is made into 9mm (5-7 layers) thick, and then the tree string is put into a high-heat 140-160 C oven or high-pressure steam pot to dissolve the wax embryo until it becomes a hollow pottery shell)
Process Flow No. 9:
Casting (the hollow ceramic shell of the previous process is sintered in a sintering furnace at 1000-1150 C according to different metal materials, copper liquid is immediately cast into the ceramic shell, the outer ceramic shell is shattered after cooling, and the rough embryo of the copper product is peeled out)
Technological process 10:
Castings dressing and treatment (sand blasting and cleaning, cutting, grinding, heat treatment, shaping, machining, polishing and other final treatment of cast copper products)
Technological process 11:
Surface effect treatment and protection (in the product surface treatment effect, usually cold color and hot color, specific color distinction and characteristics, and finally wax protection and polishing)
