Development of China's Foundry Mold Industry

The development of China's foundry mould industry has gone through a difficult process until 1976, which is still in a backward state. Since 1977, due to the vigorous development of China's machinery, electronics, light industry, instrumentation, transportation and other industrial sectors, the demand for casting die is increasing in quantity, the quality requirements are getting higher and higher, and the supply period is getting shorter and shorter. Therefore, the relevant departments of our country attach great importance to the foundry mould industry. The mould is listed as a key scientific research project in the "Sixth Five-Year Plan" and "Seventh Five-Year Plan". People are sent abroad to study and inspect, advanced technology of foreign foundry mould is introduced, and national standards for foundry mould are formulated. Through these measures, the foundry die industry has made great progress and made breakthroughs in some technologies. Second Automobile Manufacturing Factory has adopted new technology and new materials to manufacture high-quality large-scale foundry moulds for Japan's Isuzu Factory, which has won good international reputation. In 1980, Shanghai has been able to manufacture a large thermosetting plastic packaging mold with 400 modules. This mold requires small shape error and surface roughness less than 0.1um. Subsequently, large and complex plastic moulding and casting moulds for household appliances have been successfully manufactured successively. The carbide progressive moulds with an average grinding life of 4 million strokes and burrs less than 0.5 um have also been conquered. The 6-position casting moulds for rotor blade production have approached the international advanced level. At the same time, more than 10 precise progressive dies with high precision and difficulty were manufactured. By digesting the imported technology, multi-position progressive dies with micron precision and multi-cavity plastic forming dies were developed. In addition, the technology of computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) of casting die has also been studied, and preliminary results have been achieved. In this period, the foundry die industry has really been greatly developed. There are more than 6,000 foundry mould factories in China, with about 300,000 employees, about 800,000 foundry moulds and more than 160,000 standard moulds. China's foundry mould industry has begun to take shape.
In recent years, advanced manufacturing technology and equipment have been continuously introduced. In part surveying and mapping, the rubbing method and template method are generally no longer used, but advanced measuring equipment and measuring technology such as coordinate measuring instrument and laser scanner are adopted. The surveying and mapping parts are not only accurate and rapid, but also can input the measured data and figures directly into the computer, establish various documents and display the three-dimensional model of the parts. Type and two-dimensional graphics. In the aspect of design, because of the widespread application of CAD, many enterprises and factories have abandoned or are abandoning drawing boards, and other three-dimensional modeling software has been vigorously promoted. It can not only provide guarantee for CNC programming and integration, but also check assembly interference in the design to ensure the rationality of design and process. In terms of processing, the wide use of NC machine tools not only ensures the processing accuracy and quality of casting aluminum die parts, but also takes high cutting speed, high feed speed and high processing quality as the main characteristics of the processing technology, which is several or even more times higher than the traditional cutting efficiency. Some large-scale and high-level foundry mold factories are constantly emerging, and some unskilled, low-level and simple-equipped hand workshops are gradually eliminated, which makes the foundry mold industry in China have made great progress.
In this situation, we should highlight the accuracy problem in the production of casting mould, promote the development of China's casting mould industry into a new stage, and give full play to the important role of the casting mould industry in the national economy.
